Background

Our client is is a utility company that supplies Gas to Northern Virginia. They were looking forward for an Azure based Enterprise reporting implementation with Power BI as MIS reporting platform.

Key Issue

Around 80% of the existing data gets stored in MarkLogic (a NO-SQL database). The remaining data comes from additional data sources (like SybaseIQ, flat files, xml feeds, APIs etc.). The client was looking for a secure and Enterprise reporting implementation using Power BI platform for Web and Mobile.

 

Solution

We designed and built Azure Data warehouse (3NF) using Data Lake, Spark ,Azure SQL and with Microsoft Power BI to build a datahub that answers to all executive questions and securely supports multiple different sources using Power BI as a service.
